The Vipers are a legendary shamanistic raider tribe originating from Vault 15. After decades of defeat and expansion by the Brotherhood of Steel and New California Republic, the Vipers have been reduced to a shadow of their former selves by 2260, and have joined the Survivalist Raider Alliance as one of the 8 major member tribes to ensure their survival.

In 2260, the Vipers are led by a priestess named Sylvia Semi, the last practitioner of the ancient tradition of imbibing the venom of the tribe's namesake giant mutated pit vipers, which were long ago driven to extinction by the New California Republic.
