The Vault 18 Security officers in the Vault 18 Atrium might comment on a broken coffee machine if they are passed by or spoken to; the officers are on an all-night shift and would appreciate if someone would fix the coffee machine in the Vault 18 Upper Apartments.
The quest officially begins after picking up the Maintenance Request - Cafeteria Coffee Machine note from the round counter in the Atrium. Head to the cafeteria in the Upper Apartments and look at the coffee machine. With a Repair skill of 40+, it can be fixed right then and there, with an 80% chance of success. If failed, the coffee machine will permanently break and the quest will fail. With a Repair skill of 20+, it can be repaired using parts. Head to the overseer's office in the Atrium and collect the coffee machine spare parts from the Coffee King 3000 coffee machine there, then return to the cafeteria and repair the machine with parts.
If the coffee machine is fixed, the perk Wasteland Barrister is added as well as the note Recipes - Wasteland Coffee, and Wasteland Coffee becomes available to craft using campfires.
