The NCR territorial headquarters is the New California Republic's main seat of government and base of operations in the Pass, located in Union City.
Background[]
Located in the pre-War El Casino ballroom, the Star Player will be directed to this location to begin the New California Republic main questline.
Layout[]
The headquarters building has been appointed with NCR regalia, string lights, and pre-War advertisements. The building is located on the southwest side of town, with a commanding view of the main commercial area of Union City. Several NCR troopers guard the door and intersection in front of the building next to a radio tuned to NCR440 on a crate.
Inside the building, a boxing ring is immediately past the entrance foyer. Surrounding the ring are NCR troopers, who will cheer on participants if there is currently a fight underway. Two jukeboxes playing DETH981 surround the entryway to the ring. A makeshift pedestal is opposite the entrance, atop of which is an ornate throne. Stunning Steven Bowie stands upon it during fights.
The walls are adorned with pictures of notable NCR leaders of the past, including President Tandi. Surveillance cameras pan back and forth over the main room, which provides access to the NCR administrative offices and Senator DuVille's office on the right, General Silverman's office immediately forward, and a cashier cage to the left.
The cashier cage is connected to a locked storage closet. Only three of the safes can be opened with minor loot, but with a loss of Karma. A broken Protectron lays on the floor next to a varmint rifle, which the Star Player can take without penalty.
NCR administrative offices[]
The NCR administrative offices are locked and entering constitutes trespassing. The area consists of a cubicle room and a secure mainframe room, maintained by Erwin Beacon. If the Star Player is caught trespassing, Beacon will turn hostile. A bulky pre-War laptop and Erwin's terminal are sitting on the desk immediately to the right upon entering. Behind Erwin's desk, a note titled "network info" can be stolen off of a bulletin board, which provides the number "192.168.2.1" and instructions.
Other terminals can be accessed with a loss of Karma, including the NCR terminal, old NCR terminal, NCR support terminal, and inside the jail doorway, the NCR Union City mainframe terminal. An Average locked desk to the left of the jail door reveals a "vulnerable terminal serial number" of "e4fbbbfc- eb004f03- 89a2f1fc- 73d486c5" and some additional information.
Senator DuVille's office[]
The senator's office is a wide corridor-like room containing a long desk with two lines of terminals. His bodyguard, Canton Ripfist, stands to the side of the door. The senator sits in the middle of the terminals, with a host of opulent items laid out before him on the table, including NCR dollars, Athens-Tec gold, a cigar, wine, and a small suitcase that can be lockpicked. A unique pair of boxing gloves can be looted as well. Three suitcases are found behind the plants, containing minor loot.
One one side of the senator, there are seven terminals. Two of the terminals are broken and the rest are accessed with a loss to Karma. Senator DuVille's terminal has a Very Hard lock and Canton's requires a key. The other three, the NCR citizenship terminal, and Analysis of Parts 1 and 2 are marked as owned but are not locked.
On the opposite side, the Star Player will find six terminals, three of which are broken. Two of them, including the Enclave propaganda analysis and wasteland anthropology terminals, are not locked. The last terminal, named Project V-3, has a Very Hard lock. A pre-War bulky laptop sits in front of the senator but can not be accessed.
General Silverman's office[]
The general's office is a two-story room with ceiling to floor bookshelves and ample natural light. Makeshift surveillance monitors are affixed to I-beams that hang from the ceiling. Additional split monitors are installed behind the desk. An NCR command radio sits to the right of the door upon entering and NCR regalia decorates the desk and walls. The general's pet raven, aptly named Raven, is perched in a cage in front of the windows.
On the desk, many unique items can be seen, including a snow globe, Silverman's hat, and Colt N99 10mm pistol. A map of the area is scribbled upon with tactical information. Alcohol and shot glasses sit beside ruined pre-War books. General Silverman's terminal is located on the desk and has a Very Hard lock. All items are marked as owned.
The general's office is where several of the first events in the NCR questline take place, as the Star Player can visit with Ranger Vargas to provide crucial information to the general at the end of the quest Bridge Over I-15. Subsequently, the Star Player can speak with the general to begin the quest A More Perfect Union and glean more information about the current state of affairs in the Pass.
