Detailed Walkthrough[]
The robotics lab can be accessed on the upper level of Vault 18 while doing the quest Wait, We Have Robots? or after the quest Report to Vault Security to obtain the Vault 18 elevator key.
Head left from the lab entrance to find the body of B-6-RK. Hack the "Roboto Dog Terminal" next to B-6-RK (50 science required). Selecting the options on the terminal will show that B-6-RK is broken and must be repaired. With 30 Repair, she can be immediately fixed; otherwise, extra parts will be required: one droid radio unit, one fission battery, and one scrap electronics. The latter two parts can be found inside the lab, while the droid radio unit is located outside in the upper level, on a jukebox radio atop a table in one of the hallways.
After repairing her with either method, B-6-RK must then be rebooted and activated using a sequence of options on the Roboto Dog Terminal. Nothing more will be possible during the prequel, and the quest must be advanced by completing The Calm Before the Storm....
The Robotics Lab will next be entered on the way out of Vault 18 during either Live Free or Die or Failure Means Death as part of the main story after going to bed. At this point, B-6-RK will now be available as a companion, and recruiting her will complete the quest.

- Domo arigato is a Japanese phrase meaning "thank you very much."
