The Cornade is a thrown explosive in Fallout: New California.
Background[]
Before the Great War, the fields of Union City were home to a special genetically modified variant of corn plant, which was inedible, highly explosive, and contained high yields of ethanol. Following the war, they continued to grow. Even when the Survivalist Raiders occupied Union City, they took advantage of the high-yield ethanol for crude explosives and continued to cultivate the plants. During the Battle of Union City around 2240, Juan Maxson-Elsdragon used this to his advantage, setting the fields alight and causing massive explosions which killed hundreds of NCR troopers.
Characteristics[]
Cornades are just ears of Union City's GMO corn with a fuse attached, turning them into what amounts to naturally-grown dynamite. In all usage respects, they are identical to dynamite.
Location[]
56 explosive corn stalks, which give one cornade each when picked, are scattered around the ethanol fields. 39 of those stalks can be found between Radian-Helix Media studio and the Good Luck trailer park, in the plant rows closest to the water pipes. Like other plants, they will eventually regrow.
Notes[]
Twelve cornades are needed to turn in to Gaff for the quest Cash Is King.
