Bridge Over I-15 is the first quest of the New California Republic arc in Fallout: New California.
Detailed walkthrough[]
The quest is given by Ranger Kerry Vargas, who is found on the road to Union City during the quest Lost Roads. After helping her defend from a small group of attacking raiders, Vargas will ask the Star Player to help her aid the NCR Army troops at the I-138 - I-15 beltway, where NCR Baker Company, under the command of Captain Less Jameson, is under artillery bombardment from the Raider Alliance.
Immediately thereafter, raiders and NCR troopers begin fighting and a bombardment commences. Captain Jameson is located farther east behind a barricade of destroyed vehicles and will provide instructions to kill the raider commander Johnathan Nos and destroy their artillery targeting computers. Some supplies are located behind Jameson and are not marked as owned. Various dead Brahmin and NCR troopers along the road can provide additional supplies, as well as a few notes.
Caution should be taken while fighting the Survivalists; an elite raider in unique, unplayable T-49XV power armor will aid his allies in fighting against the NCR, usually equipped with a standard minigun. Killing him will award the player with his minigun, but not his power armor.
With 75 Science, the Patriot Missile system near Jameson's location can be armed as an alternative to combat. To activate it, head to the nearby hill with a radio tower and activate the laptop briefcase on the table. Moments later, an orbital missile strike will destroy Nos' bunker, allowing one to return to Jameson immediately.
Once Nos is dead and the artillery computer has either been destroyed or shut down (Average hack), Jameson, his troopers, and Vargas will evacuate towards Union City. Several additional skirmishes with Road Bandits will occur along the way.
By approaching the gates of Union City, a dialogue between the Captain and Walter The Gate Guard will occur, and entrance is granted. The party will make their way to the NCR territorial headquarters. At this point, Union City is on high alert, with all civilians locked in their homes and all businesses closed.
Once inside the ballroom, Jameson and Vargas will interrupt a meeting between General Silverman and Senator DuVille. Once they are done arguing, the Star Player is forced to speak with Silverman, who will coerce the Star Player's aid as an extralegal contractor. If one responds to him negatively or rudely, he will have the troopers initiate combat, failing the NCR questline. Otherwise, ending the conversation will begin the quest A More Perfect Union.
