The basic backpack is a backpack in Fallout: New California.
Characteristics[]
The basic backpack gives a bonus of +25 lbs carry weight, but also has penalties of -1 Agility and -15 Action Points. In terms of weight bonus, it has the second highest carry weight bonus, only passed by the Willhaven backpack - nomad (which also shares the same appearance and has no penalties.)
Interestingly, like other backpacks, it weighs nothing, and can be repaired with combat armor.

- Worn by various NCR troopers, notably many around the ethanol fields.
- Worn by Kez.
- Sold by Six Finger Discount and can be found in the shop's merchant inventory locker.
- One in the Vault 18 Wasteland Scout locker, located left of and below the vault door in the Vault 18 Entrance to Onyx Point. The locker appears in both the Prequel and Act 1 versions of the cell, meaning two copies of the lab uniform can be obtained, along with all the other apparel held in the locker.
- One found near the door into Fort Daggerpoint central.
