Detailed Walkthrough[]
After gaining access to the robotics lab by speaking to Dr. Rossman and starting the quest Wait, We Have Robots?, walk straight forward from the lab entrance to find ALPHA behind a blue forcefield, currently deactivated. In order to activate ALPHA, the Cybershock Alpha text adventure game by Shawn Star on the terminal right next to the forcefield must be completed. In order to start the game, the Cybershock Alpha v0.21 terminal on the floor must be hacked, requiring 75 Science.
In Cybershock Alpha, the goal of the game is to defeat Replicator Sam. The fastest way to complete the game is to choose the options in this order:
- Go North
- (Cyberdynamic Ind.) Look Around
- Investigate blinking light
- Back
- Go West
- (Parking Garage) Look Around
- Talk to Hooligan
- Back
- Go South
- (Downtown) Look Around
- Speak with the Weapons Dealer
- Back
- Go North
- Use Atomizer Ray on Replicator Sam
After finishing the game, nothing more can be done in the prequel. Exit the lab and complete The Calm Before the Storm... to start Act 1, and the robotics lab will next be accessible on the way out of the Vault during Live Free or Die or Failure Means Death. During this time, it will now be possible to disable the force field and activate ALPHA using the wall terminal. This will make it possible to obtain ALPHA as a companion and complete the quest.
